Three decades of photojournalism — and teaching photography — has brought me close to extraordinary people in incredible places.

After graduating with a photojournalism degree at the University of Missouri, I worked for two daily newspapers in Indiana: my hometown newspaper, the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, and the Marion Chronicle-Tribune.

Since then, I have taught photography for more than twenty years at St. Teresa’s Academy in Kansas City and the University of Kansas.

During most of those years, I have worked as a free-lance photographer, including current sports photography assignments as a contributor to Getty Images.

Most importantly, I have been able to photograph my family and friends during landmark moments.
